Daily reading plan

21 days in John

Meet Jesus through the Gospel of John. One chapter each day, with room to pause, reflect, and return. There’s no need to catch up if you miss a day.

Before you begin

John is one of the four Gospels: accounts of Jesus’ life, teaching, death, and resurrection. John explains his purpose in John 20:30–31: to help readers believe in Jesus and have life in His name. You do not need prior Bible knowledge to begin.

A reference such as John 3:16 means the book of John, chapter 3, verse 16. Read the whole chapter so a single verse stays connected to the surrounding story. If a word or saying is unfamiliar, keep the question and return to it later.

A simple rhythm for each day

  1. Pause. Find a quiet moment. If you wish, ask God to help you understand.
  2. Read. Read one chapter slowly. Notice who is speaking, what happens, and what Jesus says or does.
  3. Reflect. Use the day’s question. Write one observation and one question; uncertainty is welcome.
  4. Respond. Try the suggested step or offer a short prayer in your own words. Continue at your own pace.

The questions and daily steps below are reading suggestions, not Scripture or a test of your faith.
